Maine part 2

Tomorrow we leave for Vermont!  Thought we would take a few to catch you up on what weve been up to the last few days.
We spent one day riding on the carriage roads inside Acadia Nat Pk.  There are over 30 miles of these roads that are only for bicyclists and hikers.  We only managed to get in 12 miles, but we still enjoyed it.

After making it up one particular hill we were a little out of breath.....

This is Eagle Lake

It was a wonderful ride and we enjoyed the views and the work out!

Next day we made the trek up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain.  It is the highest point within 25 miles of the North American continent, 1530 ft.

Rog is looking down on Eagle lake, the one we rode around the day before.

Kennen and Terri our travelin buddies

Later that evening we decided to drive back up to the summit and see what the sunset looked like.

Magnificient!

You can just make out the lights of Bar Harbor.

Yesterday we headed over to the Schoodic Peninsula, which is part of the National park.

Kennen and Terri are looking for whales....well, sort of..
This guy was pointing at a pod of dolphins

Yes, that's Anita .... crazy lady

We've had a great time in Maine. Tonight we are going out for lobster, again, surprising you say,,,no, not so much.  Anyway, tomorrow it's time to move on.  We will update you on our travels in a few days.
Hope all of you are well and happy!

On the road again +2!

Hey everybody!  We are currently on a great adventure with our good friends (and they are our cousins by the way, our travelin' buddies) Kennen and Terri Shafer.  They are close to retiring and we planned this 3000+ mile 1 month road trip with them. Our trip will include stops in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New York and Ohio. We are as of this post camped in Bar Harbor Maine.  You will notice in the lovely selfie below that we arrived in style in our matching Hawaiian shirts, don't ask,,,

Before we arrived here we spent a couple days at Promised Land State Park in Pennsylvania close to the Pocono Mountains. Took a nice hike along a creek.

Rog braved the rapids

Terri is lovingly helping Opie their daschund over some rough terrain.

If you look close you will see Anita in the center

If you look real close you can see Rog in blue on the right side.

We arrived in Bar Harbor on Monday, we've been out for lobster and watched a sunset.

Terri made us matching lobster bibs!

Not many seashells here like on the Florida gulf coast..

Today we rode a park shuttle up into Acadia National Park, visited a couple sites along the coast.

Rog thinks he's a mountain goat, that's him in the red shirt and red cap.

Terri was sporting a nice hat and shades today.

Pretty spectacular isn't it.

We stopped back in the the town of Bar Harbor, check out that yacht!

We are here till Tuesday the 4th, then it's on to Vermont.  I'm sure we will do another post before we leave Maine.  Adventures await!  Take care friends, and don't forget to keep Grabn'life!
