Another trip almost done

We are currently outside Beaufort, SC not too far away from Hunting Island, which is the location of the lighthouse above.  We leave for home on Tuesday.  It's been a great trip and just want to catch you up on our travels.

We left off at Gulf State Park, Alabama.  Our second week there was full of more of the same, fishing, biking, great food and blue water and sunshine.

The water the last few days in Alabama was just such a beautiful blue.

You could see the bottom!

Rog did go fishing again and managed to catch enough for two meals!

He also managed to attract a pelican while catching a catfish!  We needed these two guys to help get the pelican to release the bit of squid while the other released the catfish!

This is one of the mullet he caught

On the bike trail

We did manage to ride almost all of the bike trails.  Kudos to the state park for providing the well maintained and beautiful trail system.

We visited Fort Morgan about an hour away, we were curious how it would compare to other forts we have checked out.

We arrived in SC on Halloween.  Rog's brother, Darrell, his wife Tracy and daughter Destiney live here in Beaufort.  We have enjoyed our visit with them.  They have been very kind to show us the sites, including Hilton Head, Hunting Island, Port Royal and Beaufort.  We've fished, walked and enjoyed some nice restaurants.

We are camped at Camp Lake Jasper just off I95. We were supposed to stay at Hunting Island, but the hurricanes did their worst and the campground still isn't open.  We are happy with Camp Lake Jasper.  Here are a couple pics.

We were surprised at how congested Hilton Head is. Shops, restaurants, condos and hotels with a beach and lots of golf courses.  We did enjoy walking the beach

We had a mission to find shark's teeth for our grandson Logan.  Destiney is the Queen of shark's teeth hunting!

This is the boardwalk that leads to the beach.  We joked that the elderly couple on the swing will be Rog and Nita in a few years!

It was a beautiful day.

Hunting Island is very natural, not commercialized.  Loved it there.  While everyone fished, Nita walked around and took some pics.

Ivan tells me this is a crowd of Ibis, not a flock, thanks Ivan! You learn something new everyday.

No explanation needed!

That's Tracy, Darrell, Destiney and Rog on top of this viewing tower in Port Royal.  Someone had to stay on the ground to get the picture, right?

It's been a great trip, not sure what else we will see before Tuesday, just wanted to get this posted before we start back.

Hope everyone is well and happy!  We are!  Keep Grabn'life!
