Arizona

Hey, its been awhile!  You will never believe where we are posting this from!  Kanab, Utah, sitting outside the library, where we thought we were going to be able to go inside and plug in and sit at a nice comfy table.  No,,,,Library closed today!  So, we are sitting in our truck.  Got the hotspot plugged into the cigarette lighter and here we go!

Now, we left off with Albuquerque.  We headed to Sedona area.  Actually stayed at a rv park halfway in between Sedona and Flagstaff, called Munds Park.  Don't know that we would stay there again, but it served it's purpose.  We were there four nights.

First day we took the scenic route down 89A through the canyon.  It was a great choice the views were wonderful.

We decided to walk downtown Sedona which is a resort town.  We stopped for a beverage and enjoyed the views some more.

Sedona has it all if you like resort towns, shopping, dining, spas, etc.  We wanted to come to this area for the outdoor experience we had heard so much about.

Next day we decided to take a hike. We got a nice hiking map in town and headed for Doe Mountain.  The map showed a short cut on a farm road.  Wrong choice. It was a wash board, dusty, red clay farm road.  Just about shook everything loose.  Thank heavens we weren't towing!

Anyway, we finally find Doe Mountain.

Up we go.  This is about a 3 mile round trip hike up to 6000+ feet with a 600 foot elevation change.

At some points the path seemed to end and we had to climb up and over rocks to find where the path continued.

The views were breath taking.

We made it to the top and found a nice comfortable rock and enjoyed our lunch.  Then of course you have to climb down :)

Next day it was off to find Devil's Bridge!  This hike is a little longer and wow, what scenery!

We hiked this road for 1.5 miles till we got to the trail head.

Now we are truly mountain goats.

We just kept climbing higher and higher.

At about the half way point a nice guy took our picture.

This is Devil's Bridge, a natural rock bridge over the canyon.  It was quite the trek, but well worth it!

View from the bridge

Yes, we walked out on it!

Then, of course you have to climb back down what you just climbed up!

Devil's Bridge was probably the most difficult climbing hike I've ever personally done.  I was proud of myself for not giving up.    There were several places where you had to get up close and personal with the rocks.

Next day we were off to Utah.  More blog posts to follow when we reach somewhere that our hotspot actually works!

Spoiler alert, the pictures from Zion and Bryce National Parks will amaze you!

Take care
